Emmerdale stars Fiona Wade and Bhasker Patel have said they are ‘excited’ to be switching on Boston’s Christmas lights this evening.
The famous pair, who play father and daughter Rishi and Priya Sharma in the Yorkshire soap, said they had been impressed with what they had seen in Boston since their arrival this afternoon, and they were looking forward to pressing the all-important button to light up the town at 6.30pm.
Fiona told The Standard: “It’s my first visit to the town, and I love it. I love these quaint little towns. It has that lovely small town feel.”
Both of the actors said it was the first time they had been asked to take part in a Christmas lights switch on, and they said it was ‘an honour’.
Bhasker said: “It’s a lovely bonus to the job.”
The pair will be taking part in a torch-lit parade through the town centre before switching on the lights at the Endeavour Radio stage on Fish Hill at 6.30pm.
