People across Boston are pledging their support to a ‘clean up crew’ to help those affected by the floods in the town.
Volunteers are being urged to gather at the Britannia pub in Church Street at 11am - one of the many parts of the town badly affected by last night’s flood.
The authorities have urged people not to travel through the town until after 10am and The Standard would urge anyone wishing to support the clean up effort to wait uuntil it is safe to do so and not put themselves at any unneccesary risk.
The group’s Facebook page states: “After so many businesses and homes where devastated by last nights floods...let’s show some community spirit and help them get back on their feet!
“Mountains are throwing a free hot dog in for anyone who helps!
“Meeting at The Brit for 11 o’clock.
“Please invite all your friends and lets do the town proud together as a community!”
