Voters take to the polls for police and crime commissioner election

Voters in Boston will today be having their say on who they want to be Lincolnshire’s first ever police and crime commissioner.

Polling stations across the borough are open until 10pm tonight but there are fears that many will choose not to turn out to vote.

The winner will hold the chief constable to account, oversee the budget and set out the priorities for policing in the next five years.

They will be paid £65,000 a year.

Don’t know who to choose? Check out how the vote works and candidate profiles and what the four contenders would do for Boston.
