Weather cancels Boston market

Bad weather conditions have forced the cancellation of this weekend’s Boston market.

Snow and ice, coupled with forecasts of continuing bad weather led market bosses to make the decision to cancel the event.

A spokesman for Boston Borough Council, which runs the twice-weekly market, said some stallholders had already indicated they would be unable to attend, and a safety inspection this afternoon (Friday), showed conditions would be unsafe for council staff, traders and customers were it to go ahead.

Wednesday’s market is still scheduled to take place as normal, weather permitting.
