They say a dog is for life, not just for Christmas – and no-one knows this better than the RSPCA which helps thousands of unwanted dogs each year.
As Christmas approaches many of us may look to de-clutter our homes of unwanted items to make room for the new.
Now you can do this and help dogs and other animals in the process with the opening of a new fundraising shop in the town which desperately needs stock to sell.
The RSPCA East Lincolnshire Branch, which covers Boston, is to open the shop at 18 Market Place on December 13.
“This new shop will enable us to increase our animal welfare programme, hopefully raise the profile of the branch and help us to rehome even more animals in our care,” said Sarah Richards, branch development manager.
“All the money raised from the shop will be ploughed straight back in to helping all the sick and injured animals currently in our care. But we really need donations and hope people from the Boston area will respond to our plea.”
Donations needed include good quality clothing, accessories, shoes, handbags, bric-a-brac, books and media.
The new shop will be a vital source of fundraising to the branch which receives no government money and has to raise all its own funds.
Donations can be dropped off at the shop now between 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday.
