A 33-year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted burglary and one of burglary involving three shops in Boston on Sunday.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said officers were called to the retail area opposite the Skirbeck Road entrance to Boston College at 2am, to a report of a man causing damage to some of the shops.

They said: “Three properties had been damaged with the windows having been smashed.”

Officers later charged Maris Cirulis-Jansons, of Boston, with attempt burglary at Dominos Pizza and Love Fish takeaway and burglary at Barnardos charity shop on May 22.

He has been bailed to Boston Magistrates Court on June 8, 2016.

The damaged shop fronts have now been boarded up.
