Man taken to hospital after collision with tree

A VAN crashed into a tree yesterday (Tuesday) after leaving the main street through Mareham le Fen.

Emergency services were called to the accident on the A155 at 7.50pm where a white Skoda Felicia had left the carriageway.

The driver, a 62-year-old man from the village, was cut out of the vehicle by fire and rescue and taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital with head, facial and rib injuries.

The A155 was closed at Revesby and at Mareham and reopened shortly after midnight.
