VETERAN salesman Maurice Chester is still at the top of the best-seller list for Robinson Agriculture – at the grand old age of 86!
The great-grandfather, who lives in Fishtoft, continues to work as a freelance salesman for the steel work company, which specialises in manufacturing farm buildings. He still works at least two days a week, spending Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the livestock markets at Melton Mowbray and Newark.
And to mark his birthday, project development manager Edward Gregory presented a special cake.
Mr Gregory commented: “Maurice’s expertise is second to none and he is regarded with immense respect by the farming community. We’re absolutely delighted that he’s still working with us.”
Maurice, who has worked for Robinsons since 1984, said: “The best thing about the job is going out and meeting people. You talk to them, and over time, I’ve made a lot of friends.”
Maurice and his wife June have eight children, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
