A COUPLE who have fundraised tirelessly since the death of their daughter from a brain tumour have handed over £10,000 to help fund research into the condition.

Margaret and Fred Clarke, of Kirton, have to date raised £75,000 since their daughter Katie died at the age of 24 in 2000.

The money from the Katie Clarke Memorial Fund has been presented to the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre at Nottingham University Research Centre.

Mr Clarke said: “It is with such kind support and generosity that we have made this amazing amount after our daughter’s death. We felt if in some little way, we could help other children not to have to suffer the terrible ordeal.

“We sincerely thank everyone who has travelled the journey with us, and may we continue to keep up the good work.”

The next fundraising events are a street collection in Boston on July 2 and the annual golf day at Boston West on August 11.
