Men treated in hospital following taxi rank ‘assault’

Witnesses are being sought for an alleged assault which saw two men require hospital treatment at a taxi rank in Boston Market Place.

Lincolnshire Police said the incident took place at the rank outside Boots Store at about 3.35am on Sunday, December 20.

It said two men, aged 50 and 33, and from the Boston area, were assaulted and required hospital treatment at Pilgrim hospital, the older man remained their for a couple of days with head injuries.

Two men, aged 24 and 26, and reportedly from the local area, were arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail to return to the police station at a later date when further enquiries have been carried out.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to provide information on what happened.

A force spokesman said: “There were a number of people in the area at the time who are likely to have seen what happened. If you did see anything and have not yet spoken to the police please contact us.”
