Miss Havisham to perform gig at Axe

BOSTON-based band Miss Havisham will be rocking at Boston’s Axe and Cleaver this weekend.

The band, which last year reached the regional finals of the Live and Unsigned national competition, will be at the West Street venue from 9.45pm, on Saturday.

A band which aims to appeal to all ages, it will be playing two sets of indie pop rock hits from Coldplay and Pink to Fall Out Boy and Lady Gaga.

The members consist of Mark Leech on bass, Ross Worth on guitar, Sam Sillett on vocals and Ben Smith on drums.

Sam and Ross are originally from London but have lived in Boston for a number of years, both Mark and Ben are from Boston.

Sam is an experienced and talented vocalist and tours as a solo artist across the UK and Europe, some of which are as a Lady Gaga tribute act.

Ross has been playing guitar for more than 15 years and is best known for his role in the band Zero Point and his work as a music producer,

Mark has played bass also for more than 15 years in various bands including one called Lo-Profile which he played in with Ross as a teenager.

Ben has been playing drums for more than seven years all around the UK and was taught by session drummers who had spent their careers playing with artists such as Sheryl Crow, The Prodigy, Alanis Morissette and Van Morrison.

The band is currently half-way through recording its first album of original tracks which have been recorded at the studio owned by Ross – Boston Recording Studios.

Entry to the gig on Saturday is free.
