THE group recently presented a cheque to Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children for £1,050.

Derek Green Provincial Grand Master (chairman) nominated the hospital as his charity during his term of office.

Derek’s grandson Ryan was airlifted to Great Ormond Street at the age of two-and-a-half when both of his lungs collapsed while on holiday in Devon, and it was the doctors at the hospital who saved him.

Derek thanked friends, family, and members of the local branch in achieving the sum raised.

The hospital said the donation will be put towards the cost of building a new centre for Children’s Rare Disease Research.
