New figures released on child poverty show more than a third of children fall below the poverty line in some parts of Boston.

The borough’s Fenside ward has the highest percentage for the area at 34 per cent. This compares to national statistics with one in five children in the UK being classed as poor.

The figures, released by the Campaign to End Child Poverty, are broken down at parliamentary constituency, local authority and ward levels.

The three Boston wards with the lowest numbers, at below five percent, are Boston North, Boston South and Boston West.
