Motorcyclist who died following collision in Boston named locally

A 21-year-old motorcyclist who died on Wednesday following a three vehicle collision has been named locally as Valentine Anisimovs.

The collision occured in Tower Road, on Thursday, July 7, at 6.30pm, and involved a motorbike, which Mr Anisimovs was driving, a Mazda and a BMW.

Mr Anisimovs was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries but five days later passed away.

It is understood friends, family and co-workers of Mr Anisimovs are trying to raise money to pay for his body to be sent to his country of origin Latvia.

A Facebook post by one of Mr Anisimovs friends has been shared more than 60 times.

It says: “All who did know Valentine & all who care about the grief of the family please help to send Valentine body to his motherland Latvia.

“He passed away today at 11 am (UK time).

“He was fighting for his life five days after he had an accident, but the injuries he received was too serious.

“For his family is really hard time & they can’t pay for body transportation to Latvia.

“Please, please good people help This young man for very last travel home.”

WEDNESDAY, 2.54pm - Police have confirmed a motorcyclist involved in a collision in Boston has died.

The collision occurred in Tower Road at around 6.30pm on Thursday, July 7, and involved a motorbike, a Mazda and a BMW.

A 21-year-old man, who was riding the motorbike, was airlifted to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries.

Police said the motorcyclist died in hospital earlier today (Wednesday).

This brings the number of killed on Lincolnshire’s roads so far this year to 31.

Any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, are asked to ring 101, quoting incident number 349 of July 7.
