Mr Albert Edward Alphonso Vellam (Ted)

ALBERT Edward Alphonso Vellam (Ted), of Punchbowl Lane, Boston, has died suddenly at Pilgrim Hospital. He was 81.

Born in Stamford, Mr Vellam lived in this area most of his life. A married man, he is survived by wife Pauline, daughters Shirley Pogson, Susan Jollands and Anne Hill and son Stephen.

Mr Vellam was a joiner all his working life, except for his National Service which was carried out in the Royal Navy. He retired in 2002.

He enjoyed listening to country music, dancing, making toys and woodwork, going caravanning and watching football.

His funeral took place at Boston Crematorium followed by cremation. The service was officiated by Canon Robin Whitehead.

Chief family mourners were: Pauline Vellam (wife), Shirley and David Pogson, Susan and Peter Jollands and Anne and Paul Hill (daughters and sons-in-law), Stephen and Hellen Vellam (son and daughter-in-law), Michaela Hill, Natalie Vellam, Sally Jollands and Kerry Pogson (granddaughters), Carl Pogson, John Hill, Tom and Jake Marshall (grandsons), Jake and Jasmin Harris, Callum, Keiron and Charlie Pogson, Anna and Violet Hill, Leila Vellam and Bethany Watts (great-grandchildren), Kevin Roberts, Fred and David Gilchrist, Leslie, Barry and Ken Barnes and Paul and Robert Goodale (nephews) and Monica Willerton, Pauline Fixter, Jane Hardstaff and Maria Harrison (nieces).
