DONALD Johnson, of Cooks Lock, Boston, has died at home following a long illness. He was 80.
Born in Fosdyke, he lived in this area his whole life. A married man, he is survived by wife Pam, daughter Linda, son Stephen, grandsons Robert and Andrew, step-grandchildren Luke and Emma and sisters Phyllis, Marge and Joan.
He completed his National Service in the RAF, before moving onto the Welland and Nene River Authority. He was then a civil servant at North Sea Camp before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed shooting, fishing, football, boxing and wildlife.
His funeral took place at Boston Crematorium and was followed by cremation. The service was officiated by Canon Robin Whitehead.
Chief family mourners were: Pam (wife), Linda (daughter), Stephen (son), Steve (son-in-law), Robert and Andrew (grandsons), Luke and Emma (step-grandchildren), Phyllis, Marge and Joan (sisters) and Terry and Millie (brother-in-law and wife).
