Mr George Henry Shinn

GEORGE Henry Shinn, of Butterwick, has died at Pilgrim Hospital following ill health for many years.

He was 85.

Born in Butterwick, he lived in this area for 31 years.

A married man, he is survived by wife Ruby, daughter Margaret, grandchildren Michelle, Sean, Mark, Stephen and Sharon, 14 great-grandchildren and sister Joyce Hogg.

During his working life, Mr Shinn was a lorry driver for Upsall’s and a tractor driver for Marshall’s.

He retired in 1995.

He enjoyed playing bingo and listening to country and western music and was a member of the Butterwick Happy Circle.

His funeral in Boston was followed by cremation. The service was officiated by the Rev Higginson.

Chief family mourners were: Ruby Shinn (wife), Margaret Dennis (daughter), Mr and Mrs D. Johnson (granddaughter and husband), Mr M. Dennis (grandson), Mr S. Dennis and Miss C. Epton (grandson and partner), Miss S. Dennis (granddaughter), Mrs J. Hogg (sister-in-law), Mr and Mrs Ashley (sister), Mr and Mrs Brader (brother-in-law), nephews and nieces.
