GORDON Cooper, of Drayton Road, Swineshead, has died at Lincoln County Hospital after a year of ill health suffering with heart and circulation problems.
He was 78.
Mr Cooper, who was married to Vera, had lived in the area for 64 years after moving from Wombwell in Yorkshire, where he was born.
He also leaves behind daughter Lynn Whittlesea, son Dale Cooper and grandchildren Shawn and Kayleigh Cooper.
Mr Cooper worked on the railway for most of his life. His roles included porter, parcel delivery driver, and various other positions.
He enjoyed gardening, snooker, country and western music and western films. He also had an interest in car mechanics.
His funeral took place at Boston Crematorium, led by David Taylor of the Methodist Church.
Chief family mourners were: Vera Cooper (wife), Lynn and Rob Whittlesea (daughter and son-in-law), Dale and Angie Cooper (son and daughter-in-law), Shawn and Kayleigh Cooper (grandchildren), James and Mark Whittlesea (step-grandsons), Mr and Mrs P. Barwell (nephew and wife) and Mr C. Barwell (brother-in-law).
