Mr Norman Thomas

NORMAN Thomas, of Staniland Road, Boston, has died in Pilgrim Hospital.

He was 78.

Born in Boston, he lived his whole life in this area.

A married man he is survived by wife Rita Thomas, son David Thomas, daughter Tanya Smalley, son Ian Thomas, grandsons Nicky and Matthew Thomas and Kian Smalley, granddaughter Holly Thomas and great-grandson Oscar Watson.

Mr Thomas carried out National Service with the Royal Artillery, and during his working life was a forklift driver including at Howard Tenens and Boston Dock.

He was a regular member at the Lord Nelson quiz nights, and enjoyed football, dominoes and a social drink.

His funeral took place at Boston Crematorium and was followed by cremation. The service was officiated by the Rev Dr Hugh Jones.

Chief family mourners were: Rita Thomas (wife), David Thomas (son), Neil and Tanya Smalley (daughter and son-in-law), Ian and Rosie Thomas (son and daughter-in-law), Nicky and Matthew Thomas and Kian Smalley (grandsons), Holly Thomas (granddaughter) and Oscar Watson (great-grandson).
