DOROTHY May Upsall, of Hunter’s Creek Nursing Home, died at the home.
She was 97.
Born at Heckington, she moved to Frampton Marsh with her family at an early age, before moving to Kirton after marrying her husband Henry. They moved to Kirton End in 1968 and Mrs Upsall stayed in the area after her husband died. She moved to the nursing home in 2007.
She leaves behind daughters Barbara and Betty, grandchildren Jane, John, Stuart and Wendy and great-grandchildren Rose, Poppy, Megan, William, Matthew and Adam.
Throughout life she enjoyed spending time with her family and her pastimes included doing quizzes and crosswords, gardening, and going on coach holidays.
She was also a member of the Zion Methodist Church.
Mrs Upsall’s funeral took place at the Zion Methodist Church and was followed by burial at Kirton Cemetery. Michael Jessop officiated.
Chief family mourners were: Barbara Hardy (daughter), Betty and David Johnson (daughter and son-in-law) John and Jill Hardy, Stuart and Kristina Johnson, Wendy Johnson (grandchildren), Megan Johnson (great-grandaughter)
Unable to attend: Jane and Alan Maddison (grandaughter and husband).
