Mrs Enid Mary Smith

ENID Mary Smith, of Boston, has died at Pilgrim Hospital following a short illness.

She was 84.

Born in Boston, she has lived in this area his whole life.

A widow, she is survived by sister Rita.

During her career, she worked at HM Inspector of Taxes, in Norfolk Street, as a shorthand typist eventually becoming a typing manager.

She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

She belonged to the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship and the Women’s Circle at Trinity Church.

Her funeral was officiated by the Rev Simon Dowson and was followed by cremation.

Chief family mourners were: Rita and Clifford Harker (sister and brother-in-law), Margaret Ward (sister-in-law), Evelyn Burr and Norma Winterbourne, Sylvia McIntyre, John Scoot, Ron Ruskin and John Ruskin (cousins), Tim Ward and Jerry Ward (nephews) and Cindy Kenyon (niece).
