ETHEL Chapman (Etty), of Carver Road, Boston, has died at Pilgrim Hospital following a short illness.
Born in Dudley, West Midlands, she lived in this area for 40 years.
A widow, she is survived by son Martin Chapman, daughters Sandra Docherty and Lesley Barnard and grandchildren Ellen, Alice and Emma Chapman, Tom and Dan Gosling and Sam Doherty.
During her working life she was a member of the Women’s Land Army at the munitions factory and also worked at Boston Woolworths store.
She was a deputy warden at Broadfield House and also worked at Co-op restaurant.
Mrs Chapman was a keen 10-pin bowler and enjoyed ballroom dancing, caravaning and socialising.
Her funeral took place at Boston Crematorium and was followed by cremation. The service was officiated by the Rev Ian Evans.
Chief family mourners were: Martin and Madelaine Chapman (son and spouse), Sandra and John Docherty and Lesley and Craig Barnard (daughters and spouses), Ellen, Alice and Emma Chapman, Tom and Dan Gosling and Sam Docherty (grandchildren), Pat Coote (sister-in-law), Phyllis and Ray Brown, Norman and Joyce Chapman and Lesley and Sandra Chapman (brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law).
