SHIRLEY Maureen Butler (Maureen), of Swineshead, has died at Pilgrim Hospital following a short illness. She was 74.
Born in Walcott, in Sleaford, she had lived in Swineshead for 53 years. A widow of the late Maurice, she leaves behind daughters Cindy, Jan and Michelle, sons Kevin and Conrad, as well as 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She spent most of her working life on the land, as well as taking on roles as a waitress and chef at her local pub. She also worked at Lockwoods canning factory for a short period before an industrial accident forced her into early retirement.
She enjoyed reading, puzzle books and knitting at home. She was an adventurous traveller, particularly in her later years, and enjoyed several trips abroad, making lasting friendships along the way. She was also a keen bingo player and an avid sports fan, following varied activities from angling to wrestling.
Mrs Butler found her greatest pleasure in spending time with her family,
