A new community hub to open in Boston next month is being lauded as a ‘shot in the arm for Dockside businesses’.
Lincolnshire Community Foundation has completed a deal to create its third community hub in Lincolnshire at 116 High Street.
The newly-refurbished Georgian property has been on the English Heritage ‘Buildings at Risk’ register for the last 15 years.
James Murphy, foundation project manager, said: “The Old Bank at 116 will be a shot in the arm for Dockside communities, helping to build confidence and regenerate the area.
“We have workshops, offices and parking for up to 10 projects plus a super top-floor apartment.”
Sarah Miles, partner at Langleys Solicitors LLP, which handled the legal work at the site, said: “Lincolnshire Community Foundation provides facilities and advice to charitable groups and enterprises across the county.
“This new hub will introduce local communities to an invaluable support network.”
An open day is being held at the site on Saturday, September 14, from noon-5pm. Victorian cakes, ale and ice cream will be available.
