The next mayor of Boston has been revealed as Labour group leader Coun Paul Kenny, who will take on the role from May.

Coun Kenny will take on the role from its current incumbent Coun Colin Brotherton, as he is next in the order of seniority.

He will be joined in the position by wife Pam as mayoress, and he has chosen fellow Labour council Paul Goodale and wife Angie to be his deputy mayor and mayoress.

The councillor will be Boston’s 479th mayor.
