New pre-planning application advice fee

A CHARGE is being introduced by Boston Borough Council for giving pre-application planning advice.

From Monday the council will no longer offer the free service, but instead will charge ‘a relatively small fee’ which it says is a cost-cutting measure.

Council leader and portfolio holder for strategic planning and development control, Coun Peter Bedford, said: “The current planning application fee does not cover the cost of giving informal guidance and pre-application advice.”
