A spokesman confirmed officers were called to the Boston Street at 2.50pm to reports of a man being attacked and another man in the property with a weapon.

However, they confirmed that no incident had in fact taken place and the occupant of the house was later taken to hospital having suffered a mental health issue.

The road was cordoned off as a precaution as police investigated the incident.
