A visiting circus has issued an appeal for people in the Boston area to help them out by donating spare plates for its comedy clown act.
Russell’s Circus is stationed in Sleaford from tomorrow until Sunday but is running low of its stocks of dinner plates.
Clown Alex Morley contacted The Standard to appeal for readers to send him their old dinner or side plates – with anyone who helps out getting a half-priced ticket (saving up to £9).
The act centres on Alex’s exploits as he ‘stands in’ for a juggler and the hilarious consequences as he tries – and inevitably fails – to keep his plates in tact.
Alex said: “It is one of the most popular act in the show and when you get a good audience you tend to smash a few more.
“We can get through 10 to 15 plates per show and they can be hard to come by. We’re hoping people in Boston can help.”
Anyone who wants to donate and help out the show – which will be at Sleaford Rugby Club – should call Alex on 07752 218805.
