A CONVOY of pink tractors will once more be taking to the roads outside Boston this summer as a hit fundraiser from 2010 returns.

Last year, the Lincolnshire Ladies’ Tractor Road Run raised almost £3,500 for Cancer Research UK (Breast Cancer Awareness) in a 21-mile sponsored tractor drive through the town’s countryside.

The female-only event was a first for the county, with 21 in all taking part - some of whom were climbing on board a farmyard vehicle for the first time.

It is now set to return on Sunday, August 7.

Organiser Margaret Bell said: “If you want a fun day and feel like raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness come and have a go.”

The route starts at Lowfield Road, Benington, at 10.30am.

There will also be a picnic lunch at the old girls’ school field, in Butterwick, to which everyone is invited.

Entry forms can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Margaret Bell, The Sycamores, Lowfields Road, Benington, Boston, PE22 0EE.

Participants will need a tractor for the day and are encouraged to decorate it pink for the event.

Donations can also be made by cheque - payable to Lincolnshire Ladies’ Tractor Road Run.
