LETTER: There’s no need for a new athletics club

The plans to form a new athletic club at the PRSA appear frustratingly ridiculous when there is already an established club in Boston, the Boston & District Athletic Club.

Will this new club be able to offer competition for members in local and national events?

The BADAC was formed under the instigation of the then-council intending that the Club should be based at the PRSA.But a decision by Boston Sports Initiative resulted in the BADAC being banned from using the stadium.

The BADAC has the top class coaches and the expertise to benefit all , and so promote the Olympic Legacy. The use of the Arena by the BADAC could have given some justification, and income, to warrant the £11 million cost of the project.
