PICTURE GALLERY: Blackfriars marks 50 years of theatre and arts in Boston

Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre in Boston launched its season of celebrations to mark its 50th anniversary with a grand reunion event.

It was a great night of memories, with volunteers, members and faces from the past discussing old times and the future.

Mayor of Boston Stephen Woodliffe and MP Matt Warman were there to say a few words and cut the cake.

Local societies and groups that have been a part of Blackfriars for the last 50 years were also on hand with stalls of memorabilia, showing their past productions.

The night was a great success and was a fitting tribute to all those that have given time and money to this special project over the years.

As well as the exhibition in the foyer, which will run until the end of October, there is a local societies gala this Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm and a professional gala performance on October 15 at 7.30pm.

Tickets for both are on sale via the Blackfriars website or box office on 01205 363108.
