‘Pink’ tractors to take to the roads around Boston for Breast Cancer Awareness

THE unusual sight of tractor drivers wearing pink feather boas will likely be seen around the borough on the weekend.

The second annual Lincolnshire Ladies Tractor Road Run is taking place on Sunday with a convoy of tractors setting off from Lowfields Road, Benington, at 10.30am.

Last year, the event held in aid of Breat Cancer Awareness, raised £3,500.

The tractors’ route is as follows: after leaving Lowfields Road they will travel to Freiston Ings Bridge, through Long Hedges and Willoughby Hills towards the Bell House, crossing the A52 to Hawthorn Tree Corner and into Eastwood Road, Freiston Road.

The tractors will then turn down Church Road, going past St Nicholas Church towards Fishtoft, over Clamp Gate Bridge to Freiston, Bull and Dog corner, then arriving at Butterwick old girls school playing field for a lunch picnic.

After the picnic break, the tractors will continue through Butterwick to Butterwick Pullover, via Sea Lane, then Benington Sea End, Spicers Lane, Leverton Luces Gate, Outgate and through Highgate, onto Benington past the Admiral Nelson, down West End and finally back to Lowfields Road.
