There was certainly no ‘poultry’ amount of quality entries to the East of England Poultry Club show in Stickney – with 220 birds and eggs shown.

Among the winners from the Boston area were John Watts, of Sibsey, who won the Best Rare Breed
category with his Yokohama male (pictured); while best bantam went to Nick Hampstead-Taylor of Old Leake and his white Leghorn. But the plucky bird at the top of the show’s pecking order was a modern game bantam (inset) shown by Callum Lewis of Gosberton. His fancy feathered friend took the Champion bird title.

The poultry club meets on the second Monday of the month at Revesby Village Hall from 7.30pm.

New members are welcome.
