Police in Boston showed they have sense of humour when they posed for this photo throwing out a stinger to stop a mobility scooter in the Market Place today.

Lincolnshire Road Policing Unit (RPU) held a public engagement event on Thursday where they gave out advice on crime prevention and road safety.

Boston RPU’s PC Suzie Ranyard (pictured) said: “The chap in the scooter just came over to have a chat, so we thought it would be fun to pose with the stinger.

“We’ve been giving out crime prevention advice and speaking to people about their concerns, from speeding problems to illegal parking in the town.”

PC Martin Appleby, community beat manager for Kirton, added: “It’s been a great opportunity to meet local people and for them to chat with us. We’ve had the dog unit here with us and Police Crime Commissioner Alan Hardwick has also been here to speak to people.”
