Census data shows Boston population growth

FIGURES released today from the 2011 Census show Boston has had the 14th highest population growth in the country in the past decade.

The data now puts the borough’s population figure at 64,600 - up by 15.8 per cent from about 56,000 in 2001.

That change makes it one of the local authority areas with the most growth.

The population of England and Wales was shown as 56.1 million, a rise of 3.7 million in the past decade.
