Changes made to battle service

THERE will be some changes made to the annual Battle of Britain Sunday service and parade due to the Market Place refurbishments when it takes place on September 18.

The event will now see the parade march through Pescod Square precinct towards the Wide Bargate area and not through the Market Place as usual.

The service will take place at 11.30am in St Botolph’s Church and following it the mayoral party will be led by Chief Inspector Lee Pache through the precinct to the Saluting Base positioned in the loading bay near WH Smiths.

Boston Mayor Coun Mary Wright, Wing Commander Seymour, the council’s strategic director and the team rector will take the salute.

During the march there will be a fly-past.
