A PLAN to demolish a collection of derelict buildings, which could pave the way for 12 new town houses, has been given the go ahead by Boston borough councillors.
Whittlesey-based developer M. Keshwara has been granted permission to tear down the buildings at 1 Witham Town, which is in a conservation area.
A report drawn up by chartered accountant Robert Lowe describes the site as a ‘rambling collection of derelict and semi-derelict buildings’.
Previous attempts for planning permission were rejected on the grounds of highway access.
Those concerns have now been addressed with the construction of an alternative access into Witham Town off Tattershall Road.
The developer wants to replace the buildings with a mix of three and four bed houses.
The council said the buildings make ‘no positive contribution’ to the conservation area.
