A FREISTON pub, frequented by an ex-Big Brother housemate, has been doing its bit to help soldiers wounded in battle.

The Bull and Dog, in Church Road, has just handed over £362 to Blesma - which stands for British Limbless Ex Service Men’s Association.

The money was raised through various activities and raffles held at the pub - some of which were attended by 2010 Big Brother contestant Steve Gills - who lost two legs in an IRA bomb attack 21 years ago.

Landlord Dale Broughton said: “The main person people may remember from the pub is ‘Gilly’ who has been to the pub for various charity nights.”

Dales mum Christine added: “Blesma was our chosen charity for the year and a very worthy cause.”
