A VILLAGE concert will aim to raise funds to repair a church roof on Saturday.
Gosberton St Peter and St Paul’s Church and the Royal British Legion have organised their Summer Prom Concert, featuring the Foss Dyke Band, from 7pm.
It follows a spate of lead thefts earlier in the year and organisers hope to raise enough money to get the church roof repaired.
Foss Dyke is a traditional English Brass Band, based in Lincoln.
It dates back to 1974 when it commenced life as a local village band named the North Hykeham and District Concert Band.
It has subsequently grown in stature and has rapidly established itself as one of Lincolnshire's premier brass bands becoming one of the few bands to rise through the brass band divisions to Championship Section in seven years.
The band usually competes twice a year in competitions including the 1st Section of the National Brass Band Association Championships.
In addition, it has a full programme of regular engagements including Last Night of the Proms concerts, entertaining the crowds at the RAF Waddington International Airshow and playing for BBC radio.
The show will include refreshments during the interval.
Tickets cost £8 in advance and £9 on the door with the proceeds split between the two causes.
