Red Herring at Drill Hall

THE laughs are back as the Red Herring Comedy Club returns from its January break next month.

The show which brings comedians to Lincoln is kicking off its 2012 season by promising a fantastic show.

Headline act Dave Johns is new to Lincoln, but one of the most experienced acts on the circuit having started out in 1989.

He has been a regular guest on comedy panel shows Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2) and 8 Out Of Ten Cats (C4) and starred in the BBC3 late night sitcom Dogtown.

Dave has acted on the West End stage with Christian Slater in the stage play One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and has peformed in Twelve Angry Men and The odd Couple with Bill Bailey and Alan Davies at the Assembly Theatre, Edinburgh.

This is all as well as being regular guest improviser with the 'Comedy Store Players'.

Support comes from Paul McCaffrey who is returning to the venue after performing at the gig a couple of years ago.

He has since been spotted by one of the UK’s major talent agencies.

Paul’s warm and anecdotal stand-up, made distinctive by his brilliant portrayal of the characters he encounters in his life, has made him a hugely successful act on the circuit and at the Edinburgh Festival.

Chris Martin will be MCing the show.

Tickets to the show, which starts at 8.30pm, at the Lincoln Drill Hall cost £10 and £9 advance.
