MILE runs, epic swims, target shoot-outs and fancy dress aerobics were just some of the school activities held in aid of Sport Relief on Friday.

More than 500 pupils and staff at Boston Grammar School took part in various activites, including Zumba, rounders, dancing and football target shooting to raise £1,000, which is to be split between Sport Relief and The Butterfly Hospice.

At Giles Academy, pupils took part in mile runs and swimathon challenges. Swimming teachers Andrea Lunn and Leanne Myers completed five miles (320 lengths) in the pool. The feat was then repeated by students Rebecca Craven, Jordan Butler and Madeline Verdegaal.

At Carlton Road Primary School, pupils and staff were joined by Boston Mayor, Coun Mary Wright, as they took part in a colourful fancy dress aerobics session. Their efforts raised £645.

Youngsters at Frampton Community Playgroup dressed sporty and took part in fundraising exercise, games and activities.
