FORMER and serving members of the Royal Navy joined local dignitaries and supporters for a Service of Remembrance this week.

The Royal Naval Association Boston Branch was behind the service, which took place at the town’s War Memorial in Wide Bargate on Friday.

The service was held to commemorate the lives of those lost during the Battle of Trafalgar, a sea battle fought off the coast of Spain during the Napoleonic Wars of 1803-1815.

Mayor of Boston, Coun Mary Wright, attended the 11am service, along with Navy veterans.
