A SUPERMARKET customer who received an incorrect parking ticket has seen victory in her campaign – after the store promised to scrap the requested fine.
The woman, who asked not to be named, received a ticket stating she had been parked in Asda’s car park for more than eight hours, breaking the rules set by parking providers Town and City Parking.
However, she claimed she had actually visited the Lister Way store twice on the same day, and the camera had failed to notice her leaving the first time and returning later that day.
She received a fine in the post for £75, but refused to pay on the grounds it was incorrect.
A spokesman for Asda has now said the CCTV evidence which led to the ticket is inconclusive, and the store will wipe out the debt.
