A charity helping about 100 families in the Boston area has been given a boost thanks to the Co-op.

The store in Boston’s Argyle Street nominated Home-Start as their ‘community champion’ - and now donated £1,208.47 thanks to its customers.

Being community champion means that each time a Co-op customer has used their dividend card or bought a carrier bag over the last three months, the money was collected for the local family support charity.

Judi Kay, Home-Start Lincolnshire’s regional manager for the Boston area, said she was very grateful for the donation, adding: “We plan to use the money to help keep our Kirton support group running for another six months.”

Home-Start Lincolnshire helps families with young children who are going through hard times or crisis.

They are a volunteer-based organisation, and are looking for more volunteers. to join them.
