A student has set herself the ultimate challenge of trekking Machu Picchu in August 2015 to raise money for The Epilepsy Society.

Jasmin White, of Gosberton, hopes to make it to Peru to travel to the ancient village ruins, a challenge that tests explorer’s endurance with the landscape and altitude at one of the world’s most iconic sites.

She is hoping to raise £3,000 for The Epilepsy Society by completing the five-day trek.

Jasmin, who is currently studying graphic design at Loughborough University, said: “Many people don’t realise just how prevalent Epilepsy is in our society.

“A close friend suffers with epilepsy and it has affected his ability to drive and lead a normal life thus it made taking on the challenge even more important to me ”
