Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No – it’s the plucky staff of The Ball House doing their bit for charity.

Their two-year aim is to raise £5,000 for the Guide Dog Association, having already raised £500 at events held over Easter. Next up is their ‘superhero’ weekend which will take place at the pub, in Wainfleet Road, over the weekend of May 25-26.

Tracy Topliss, from The Ball House, said: “We are getting our customers to sponsor us to work dressed as superhero’s as we feel the guide dogs are ‘super heroes’ to their owners in terms of how they enhance their lives.”

The grand finale of the weekend is their ‘big fat bank holiday quiz’ on the Sunday night which will include a special ‘superhero round’.
