Teenager suffers ‘serious injuries’ following A17 collision

A teenager was taken to hospital with ‘serious leg injuries’ following a collision in Wigtoft last night (Tuesday)

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman confirmed that an 18-year-old man from the Wigtoft area was taken to Queens Medical Centre with serious leg injuries after the silver Honda 125cc motorbike was involved in a collision with a red VW Fox on the A17 at Hipper Lane.

The 34-year-old driver of the VW, a Harrogate woman, was unhurt.

The spokesman said the incident was reported to police at 7.55pm by the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue also attended the scene.

The road was closed whilst emergency services treated those involved and investigated the cause of the collision.
