The grate over the housing had been removed and the two LED lights taken from their mountings leaving the two control boxes in place.

Subsequently overnight on Monday, one of the control boxes was also taken. To avoid further temptation, the church has removed the remaining box for safe keeping.

The Rev Alyson Buxton said: “This is a very sad day for the church. We were finally recovering from the devastating flood and looking forward to commissioning our replacement LED lights so that the Stump could be lit up at night but we will now have to look to get new lights fitted.”
