More than £5,000 has been raised for good causes in and around Boston in the last three months through Lincolnshire Co-op’s Community Champions scheme.

The initiative sees every one of the society’s 250,000 members linked to a worthy project in their area.

Every time they use their dividend card in any Lincolnshire Co-op outlet where dividend is issued, a donation from the Community Champions pot goes towards their local good cause.

After three months, the beneficiaries change.

The causes receiving support in the Boston area for the period between September and December, with their allocated sums in brackets, are: Boston Network Food Bank (£860.05), Leverton Parish Council (£637.18), Mareham le Fen Hall (£1,069.13),
RAF Coningsby Kids Club (£1,069.13), Revesby Cricket Club (£522.46) and Sibsey Youth Football Club (£1,053.27).
