TIME is running out for people to register for this year’s 34th annual Seabank Marathon on July 17.
With the deadline for participants to enter looming on Monday, July 4, now is the time to get your running shoes on and register.
“This is a great opportunity for schools and clubs to take part and raise money for their own funds,” said Peter Arnott, development officer at Boston and District Athletics Club (BADAC) which joined forces with The Standard to save after it was cancelled in March.
Those taking part in the event, which runs from Skegness to Boston, have a better opportunity to fundraise for their chosen charities this year.
Unlike in previous years, all the sponsorship money raised this year – bar the £20 entry fee – will go straight to their charity.
Mr Arnott added: “If people don’t fancy the full marathon there is the mini-marathon and three-mile course so all ages and abilities can take part.”
The trail race will start at 9am at the South Parade car park, Skegness. The fundraising walkers/joggers event is at 9.15am, and the Skegness dog walkers will begin at 9.30am.
In Fishtoft, the mini-marathon sets off at 11am and the three-mile dog walkers course begins at 11.15am. The start and finish for these will be at the Fishtoft Scout Hut.
l Entry and sponsorship forms are available now from the Boston Standard offices at 5-6, Church Lane, Boston, or online via www.bostonanddistrictac.com.
